The Ultimate Game Changer – NYX Matte Setting Spray.

The NYX Matte Finish Setting spray with a small clock from kickerland

Ever used a foundation that’s meant to be long lasting and after an hour or two you look like a patchy shine ball? Been there.  But I have stumbled upon what might be a new holy grail product, the NYX Matte Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray.   That’s right, I said holy grail.

I’ve seen this NYX setting spray a million times in Ulta and was always kind of meh about it.   I have mega oily skin so I knew I’d buy into what I thought was a makeup gimmick, eventually.  I actually picked it up in Ulta right after I found my feature on the Revlon ad.  I was riding an emotional high and decided to buy a couple things I’ve put off trying for one reason or another.  No regrets.

This spray has amped up my makeup game.  If you saw my review of the MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation, you’ll know I didn’t get along with that foundation until I introduced this mist.  The mist is decently fine and I find 3-5 sprays will set my face well.  Speaking of setting my face, I actually use this after primer, after foundation, and then one last time after all my base products are on.  This layering affect makes everything look extremely natural and extends the life of my look.

Let’s address the biggest question here.  Does it actually create a matte finish?  On my skin, this spray doesn’t create a completely matte finish, but it does prolong the velvet-matte finish of whatever foundation I’m using.  It helps keep the oil at bay and I’m all about it.

If you’ve got oily skin problems, I really recommend you try this out some time.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.  If you do try it, let me know what you think.

We shall talk soon!
