Hey there, bow friends!
When I was titling this I was so tempted to write Fall/Winter picks, but I guess it’s winter now, isn’t it? I mean, it’s a frosty 81 degrees out today so break out the mittens and tea. I was thinking I’d share some of what I have been wearing on my nails the most and maybe later on toward Christmas I’ll do a glitzier nail post. Let’s focus on the present though, let’s crack on.
Slumming On Sunset is a shade in the Spoiled range by Wet n Wild. I picked up this polish from CVS one night when I was looking for a good red to match my Snow White costume. I wanted something cheap with a warm, rich, deep shade. You can see my problem here. Most of the polishes I found under $3 were shimmery, iridescent, or just a really unflattering red. And then I found the spoiled display. At $1.99, I feel like you’re getting much more for your dollar. The color is a deep, candy apple red that had a pretty decent wear time. I didn’t see any chips until 4 or 5 days after application. An all in all winner.
I’ve been loving Essie’s e-nuf is e-nuf all of 2013. It’s my favorite shade of pinky red and somehow I feel like it translates well into winter. It’s like a soft, muted cranberry or cherry that I’ve discovered looks wonderful on all skin tones. And, bonus, the new formula lasts about 5 to 7 days on me.
Catrice’s Genius In The Bottle is not new to B&B. It’s actually a product from one of my earliest posts. It’s one of the coolest polishes I’ve ever owned. It’s a gold duochrome color that tends to come off green, blue, or red. It’s a great dupe for Chanel Peridot except that it’s a tad warmer. I think it’s a really interesting shade to wear. It’s got a little more punch that makes me choose it over other metallic golds or silvers. If you can get your hands on this, go for it.
Revlon’s Seductive is a shade I have contemplated buying since early October. It’s a part of their Evening Opulence collection that featured a lot of deep, fall colors. Eventually I gave in and went for it because it’s just such an interesting shade. From looking at the bottle you can tell it’s one of those so-dark-it-looks-black shades, which happen to be some of my favorites for fall and winter. It’s a deep purple that I think comes out looking like the shade in the bottle after only 2 coats. This has incredible wear time. I applied this the 21st of last month and didn’t experience any chipping until the 1st of this month. Tell me how. Revlon has used some voodoo magic to make this polish so perfect. Definitely give it a try.
What are you all wearing on your nails this season? I know I’ve got some stereotypically fall shades here, but does anyone have any recommendations for a good nude or other color I haven’t mentioned? I hope you all have been doing well. It’s finals time here. It’s getting stressful. I can’t wait for break. Good luck on all your finals, papers, and tests!
We shall talk soon!
